The Artist Within – A Journey Through Theatre

Long before he became known for his engineering expertise and social initiatives, Sreeramu was known for his voice, his expressions, and his presence on stage. Theatre was his first love - a passion that shaped his personality, refined his leadership qualities, and connected him deeply with people. His journey as a theatre artist began in his college days, where he actively participated in dramas and cultural performances. What started as an extracurricular pursuit soon evolved into a lifelong passion. He believed that theatre was not merely about entertainment - it was a medium of expression, a platform for unity, and a space for human connection.

The Stage That Inspired Leadership

During his early career as an Assistant Executive Engineer, Sreeramu continued to pursue his love for theatre. It was during this phase that he took up one of the most iconic roles in Indian mythology - Duryodhana from the Mahabharata. His portrayal of the complex character received admiration for its depth and conviction. For Sreeramu, Duryodhana was not just a villain to be portrayed; he was a symbol of human emotions - ambition, pride, loyalty, and vulnerability. Bringing such a layered character to life on stage required empathy and understanding - qualities that translated seamlessly into his professional and social life as well. Through every performance, he learned to observe human nature, understand motivations, and communicate effectively - skills that later became invaluable in his administrative and leadership roles.

Theatre as a Tool for Togetherness

Sreeramu often says that “Theatre brings people together in ways that nothing else can.” This belief shaped his involvement in various drama and theatre groups even after stepping into his engineering career. He observed how people from diverse backgrounds - students, teachers, workers, and officers - came together, rehearsed, shared ideas, and built something beautiful as a team. For him, theatre was more than art; it was a lesson in collaboration and harmony. Every stage performance required discipline, coordination, and mutual respect - values that he believes can strengthen communities and workplaces alike. The friendships and bonds formed during these plays went beyond rehearsals; they reflected his philosophy that art unites hearts while work builds societies.

Balancing Passion and Profession

Balancing the responsibilities of an engineer and the calling of an artist is not an easy feat. Yet, Sreeramu managed both with equal dedication. After long days at work, he would often spend evenings preparing for stage rehearsals, learning dialogues, and refining his craft. His colleagues often recall how his artistic background made him a better communicator, a patient listener, and a creative problem solver. Theatre gave him a sense of balance - a space to express emotion and creativity amidst the demands of technical and administrative duties. It kept him grounded, empathetic, and connected to the human side of every challenge he faced.

Art That Reflects Life

Through his years in theatre, Sreeramu realized that art and life are reflections of each other. Every play, every role, and every performance left behind a lesson - about humility, teamwork, emotion, and leadership. He continues to believe that cultural activities like theatre should be encouraged in every professional and educational space, as they nurture qualities that no textbook can teach. Even today, though his professional life keeps him occupied, Sreeramu remains a strong advocate for promoting theatre and cultural activities in communities. For him, theatre is not a pastime; it is an expression of unity, humanity, and collective growth.
